The FAUNO Project consortium is composed of a group of leading companies in the technology and aeronautics industries, bringing their experience and expertise in different areas. Together, these companies combine their capabilities to develop innovative solutions in the manufacture of composite materials.
The FAUNO project involves leading companies in digital design, mould making, part manufacturing processes and materials development. These include INESPASA, SMART MATERIALS 3D, NEXUS PROJECTES and IDAEROas well as the collaboration of leading international research centres in the area of Materials and Manufacturing Processes, such as AIMEN and IMDEA Materiales.
Each member of the consortium plays a key role in the development of FAUNO, contributing resources, technology and expertise to achieve the ambitious objectives of the project. The collaboration between these entities ensures a multidisciplinary approach and a solid knowledge base in key areas such as additive manufacturing, materials engineering and advanced production processes.


INESPASA, founded in Seville in 1983, today offers integral solutions for Aerostructures projects with extensive experience demonstrated over the years in R&D projects, Design and Manufacture of Tooling, Manufacture of Machined Elements and Assembly of Sub-assemblies,
INESPASA has been actively working for more than 30 years, with the support of the main manufacturers in the sector, in the continuous evolution of the aerospace industry.

Smart Materials 3Dfounded in 2014 in Spain, specialises in the design, development, manufacture and commercialisation of materials for use in 3D Printing.
The core of our business model lies in our Development, Research and Innovation Department, we have the ability to research, develop, manufacture and market filaments, pellets and composites for 3D printing. Our competitive advantage lies in advising, training and technical support for each and every one of our products.
With more than 58 products in its catalogue, Smart Materials 3D is the leader in the Spanish market and exports to more than 50 countries. It has 4 filament production lines and 2 compounding lines, with a total capacity of 600 TN/year.



En Nexus At Nexus, craftsmanship and technology come together to create exceptional pieces in the composite materials sector. Since its foundation in 2006, we have been developing and producing unique projects, which has positioned us today as a Tier1 reference.
We began our trajectory by focusing on the production of short series and prototypes. Today, we operate with expertise in three fundamental areas: the design and manufacture of tools and moulds, the manufacture of prototypes and series production based on the lean manufacturing model.
Not limited to the manufacturing process, together with the Btech Group and a team of over 400 engineers, we provide end-to-end solutions from development and prototyping to production, mould making and machining.

IDAERObased in Madrid and member of the ESA BIC programme, specialises in the development of software and innovative engineering applications, integrating technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital twins and Big Data
We operate in strategic sectors such as aerospace and defence, automotive, rail and renewable energy. In addition, we have an expert engineering team in structural design and analysis.
Our specialisation is materialised in advanced solutions, being NaxTo one of our main innovations. This FEM analysis post-processing software is renowned for its intelligent tools, which considerably reduce structural analysis times.
At IDAERO, we combine experience and technology to lead innovation in engineering.



AIMEN Technology Centre, with more than 57 years of activity, is currently a national and European reference in research, development and technological innovation in the areas of advanced manufacturing and laser manufacturing, digital technologies for manufacturing, intelligent materials, intelligent systems and recycling; as well as in the provision of differentiating technological services to industry in the areas of manufacturing with advanced joining technologies, robotics and digitalisation of processes, flexible transversal engineering service highly specialised in welding, corrosion, equipment calculation, product simulation and materials testing.

It is one of the seven Madrid Institutes for Advanced Studies (IMDEA). It is a non-profit public research centre, founded in 2007 by the Community of Madrid.
The centre received the ‘HR Research Excellence Award’ in October 2015 and is recognised as one of the best research institutions in Spain (accredited as a ‘María de Maeztu’ unit of excellence until December 2024 by the Ministry of Science and Innovation).
Its aim is to conduct research at the forefront of Materials Science and Engineering, attract talent from around the world and transfer technology to industry.
IMDEA Materials enjoys an international reputation in the design, processing, characterisation, modelling and simulation of advanced materials for applications in transport, industry, energy and health.
